Riverside Police have 32-year old Logan Nighswonger in custody. Police say Nighswonger entered a girls restroom on the campus of McAuliffe Elementary School in Riverside. The incident occurred on Friday at 12:30pm.
The suspect jumped a fence at the school, entering the girls restroom and attempted to assault a girl inside. A campus supervisor observed the suspect come out of the restroom and heard a girl crying. The campus supervisor followed the suspect who fled, jumping fences to get out to the parking lot. The suspect then got into a vehicle and left the school. The campus supervisor gave a detailed description of the vehicle to police along with a license plate.
The Riverside Police METRO team responded to a business in Placentia where Nighswonger was located and taken into custody. Nighswonger is a registered sex offender.
