A horse was rescued from the Santa Ana river Sunday afternoon. The horse had to be airlifted by helicopter. The horse got loose and ran away during a riding trip late Saturday. It was located across the river.
Rescuers used a swift-water team to access the horse. Once the horse was back on safe ground it was checked out and released to the owner.
