A pilot of a single engine plane made a hard landing Sunday morning in an empty field in Riverside. The pilot had just taken off from Riverside Airport when he says he experienced engine trouble. The pilot says the engine quit on him. Riverside firefighters responded to scene at Gaylord and Stover streets just after 10am. The crash site is just a couple miles from the Riverside Airport.
The pilot was able to land the plane in the field and avoid crashing into any of the nearby houses. There were three adults on-board the plane. No injuries were reported. The NTSB will conduct an investigation into the incident.
