Deputies Bust Cockfighting Ring in Jurupa Valley

Deputies busted from the Riverside Sheriff Jurupa Valley station busted an illegal cockfighting ring Friday night. They responded to the 5900 block of Troth Street around 10:30pm. They observed approximately 200 people at the location.

During a check of the property, evidence of an illegal cockfighting event was located including deceased and injured birds. Deputies also found 143 caged birds throughout the property. Animal control officers also responded. The injured birds were euthanized. The property owners were cited. Deputies located fighting blades, commonly used at cockfighting events.

The Riverside County Department of Animal Services is working with the district attorney’s office to bring felony charges against the property owner.
