Anaheim Man Sentenced to Ten Years in Prison for BB Gun Shootings

Jesse Leal Rodriguez of Anaheim received a ten year sentence in state prison after pleading guilty to three felonies related to the string of BB gun shootings across the Inland Empire and other parts of Southern California. Last year, motorists across a dozen freeways were targeted with their windows shot out.

Rodriguez’ Maroon Chevy Trailblazer was caught by a Tesla’s camera system. Rodriguez was behind the Tesla when its rear window was shot out near Hamner Avenue in Norco. Shortly after that incident, another driver reported her window shot out on the 91 Freeway in Riverside and spotted the Trailblazer.

Riverside Police and CHP later pulled over the Trailblazer in Riverside in the parking lot of the Tyler Galleria. Evidence recovered from the vehicle included a BB gun and BB’s. Rodriguez accepted a plea deal from the Riverside District Attorney’s office.
