Several animals were rescued from knee deep mud on a property in Muscoy. Firefighters were requested to assist animal control around 3pm to help rescue at least 17 animals stuck in the mud. Several cows, horses, pigs and goats were pulled from the muddy conditions. A swiftwater rescue team and large animal rescue unit from the San Bernardino County Fire Department assisted. An excavator was also brought in to help clear the mud.

It is unclear what prompted animal control officers to respond to the property. At least three animals did not survive. All of the rescued animals were taken away for evaluation.
