School Shooting Plot Thwarted in Ontario

A tip by a student at Ontario Christian High School led police to investigate an 18-year old student who was planning a large-scale shooting attack at the campus. Ontario Police acted quickly and discovered Sebastian Vllasenor was plotting an active shooter incident.

Police say Villasenor had access to a large amount of guns and ammunition. They also say Villasenor was obsessed with the Columbine High School shootings in Colorado and had been researching responses times from the Ontario Police Department to Ontario Christian High School on Philadelphia Street in the city.

Villasenor was arrested and charged with one count of Attempted Criminal Threats along with five counts of attempted murder, suggesting he was possibly targeting certain students. Detectives and the principal of the school say the student did not show any signs of prior violence and was not previously in trouble. Villasenor plead not guilty in a Thursday arraignment. A judge will keep him behind bars as he awaits another hearing.
