A wind driven fire broke out in Monday afternoon in the rural Riverside County community of Aguanga. The fire named the “Highland Fire” burned over 2,200 acres and destroyed at least 10 structures. By Monday night, over a thousand people were forced to evacuate the area.

Aircraft and ground crews spent Tuesday working to gain the upper hand and contain the blaze. Winds also died down Tuesday however vegetation in the area was extremely dry making things difficult for firefighters.
