The Moreno Valley Unified School District board vote to terminate Superintendent Dr Martinrex Kedziora’s contract Tuesday night. The board held a special meeting Tuesday night. Several parents and employees spoke out in favor of keeping Kedziora during the public comment.

The termination comes a week after a the district settled a $27 million wrongful death lawsuit with the family of 13-year old Diego Stolz. Soltz died after being punched and hitting his head by bullies at one of the schools in the district. An investigation found the staff at the school failed to report and discipline the students who had been harassing Stolz.
“I would like to thank Dr. Kedziora for his years of service to the Moreno Valley Unified School District,” said School Board President Susan Smith. “He has exhibited a real love for the students and families of our district. Occasionally there comes a time when institutions such as school districts need to make a change in direction. That time has come for us here at Moreno Valley. We know that everyone will continue to do their best to meet all of the needs of our students and families.”
An interim superintendent has been named.
