Dozens of people were left stranded in the community of Seven Oaks in the San Bernardino Mountains after the only road in got washed out by Tropical Storm Hilary. At least 30 residents have been stuck in the community since Sunday evening.

The San Bernardino County Sheriff Aviation unit flew several of the residents to safety Tuesday. There are still many residents refusing to leave the community. The power is out in the area and many are relying on propane and generators. A makeshift bridge was constructed across the still flowing creek to allow rescuers to gain access to Seven Oaks.
Several cabins have been damaged or destroyed. At least one woman remains missing. It could be weeks before the road is repaired. Officials are warning those that remain in the community to leave as it could be difficult to get supplies and help to them.
