Off-Duty LA Sheriff Deputy Shot By Fontana Police

Fontana Police shot an off-duty Los Angeles County Sheriff deputy on a golf course Tuesday afternoon. Police received a disturbance call around 4pm in a neighborhood near the Sierra Lakes Golf Course. Neighbors reported the off-duty deputy was inside of his residence firing shots.

Fontana Police officers confronted the off-duty deputy on the Sierra Lakes Golf course. The off-duty deputy reportedly pointed a gun at the officers and they were forced to fire striking the deputy. The off-duty deputy was transported to a local hospital where he was later pronounced deceased.

No one else was hurt in the shooting. The investigation has been turned over to the San Bernardino Sheriff Department.
