Firefighters battled three separate fires Tuesday afternoon across the Inland Empire. The first fire broke out along Santa Rosa Mine Road in Perris. That fire burned at least two structures and several vehicles. At least 55 acres burned in that fire.

Just after 3pm, another fire was reported in the hills above Mentone near Highway 38 that briefly threatened several structures. There were no reported evacuations as crews in the air and on the ground worked to contain the flames. The fire which was named the “Nice Fire” burned 90 acres.

A third fire reported in Lytle Creek was contained to just 2-acres. Firefighters are warning people to stay vigilant as temperatures heat up and the summer fire season begins.
