Police Find 5,000-lbs of Fireworks in San Bernardino Home

San Bernardino Police confiscated 5,000-lbs of illegal fireworks in a San Bernardino home late Monday night. At least one person was arrested. Police say the suspect was operating an illegal firework storefront in the back of his residence located in the 1400 block of West Evans Street. The suspect was also manufacturing illegal fireworks.

Hundreds of boxed fireworks could be seen in a shed on the property. The suspect also had a seperate area where he was making the illegal fireworks. The bomb squad was called in to remove black powder canisters on the property. Investigators evacuated nearby neighbors and spent the better part of Tuesday working to remove the illegal fireworks and mitigate the public safety threat to the neighborhood.
