1 Killed, 4 Injured in Riverside Head-On Crash

Five people were rushed to local hospitals Tuesday morning after a violent head on crash on Arlington Avenue. The crash happened around 7:30am. Police say a 22-year old male driving a white 2020 Honda Civic was taken to a hospital in critical condition after colliding with a Gray 2015 Nissan Sentra driven by a 25-year old female.

Her passengers included 16-year old, 10-year old and 8-year old. The 8-year old male was later pronounced deceased at the hospital. Police say the children are all siblings. Riverside Police closed off Arlington and Stover for much of the day while the M.A.I.T team investigated the crash. Neighbors say vehicles speed through the streets in the are all of the time and surveillance video shows one of the vehicles driving at a high rate of speed.

Police say the White Honda Civic veered into oncoming traffic for unknown reasons. Drugs or Alcohol have not yet been ruled out as a factor in the collision.
