Ontario Suspect Pulls Gun Inside of Patrol Car and Shoots at Officers

Ontario Police officers were dispatched to check on a disabled vehicle at Holt and San Antonio Avenues in Ontario around 3:12pm Friday afternoon. they located 42-year old Christopher Urena from San Dimas acting erratically near the vehicle. It was discovered Urena had an arrest warrant for domestic violence. Urena was arrested and placed in the back of a patrol car.

While in the backseat of the patrol vehicle, Urena pulled a concealed firearm from his person and shot at officers. Officers returned fire as Urena barricaded himself inside the vehicle. He eventually surrendered and was re-arrested. Urena sustained a non-life threatening injury during the shooting and was taken to a local hospital for treatment before being booked into West Valley Detention Center. No officers or bystanders were hurt during the shooting and the incident is under investigation.
