California Governor Gavin Newsom has issued a State of Emergency in 13 counties. On that list is Los Angeles and San Bernardino counties. The proclamation paves the way for disaster relief efforts in the hardest hit areas such as the San Bernardino Mountains which has seen the worst of the storm damage in Southern California.

Cal OES is working with San Bernardino County to bring in additional snow plows and road crews as well as opening two shelters for residents. Cal Fire and the National Guard also stand ready as needed. The state is also contracting with private companies to help with snow removal on roadways.
