A hiker missing since Sunday on Mt Baldy was found alive Tuesday afternoon. Search and Rescue crews found 75-year old Jin Chung of Los Angeles. Chung was found in an area near where actor Julian Sands has been missing for over a week. Chung was taken to the Mt Baldy fire station and transported to a local hospital for treatment. He had frostbite and other injuries.
A San Bernardino Fire captain says it’s a miracle Chung survived. Winds were over 80 miles per hour on the mountain and temperatures were below freezing. Sands still has yet to be found.
Several hikers have been rescued from Mt Baldy in recent weeks. The San Bernardino County Sheriff department reminds hikers that conditions are hazardous on the mountain with the recent weather.
