Alterra Mountain Company has closed on purchase of Snow Valley resort in Running Springs. Snow Valley has been family run for decades. The resort started in 1924. Alterra Mountain Company operates Bear Mountain Resort and Snow Summit. The deal now expands the companies local ownership to three resorts.

Alterra is headquartered in Denver, Colorado and operates 16 resorts worldwide including the the largest heli-skiing operation. Alterra also owns the Ikon Pass- a season pass accepted at 50 mountain destinations around the world. Both Ikon Passes and Big Bear Mountain Resort Passses will be accepted at Snow Valley starting Monday, February 20th.
