Two bicyclists were killed Tuesday night in a Rancho Cucamonga hit and run crash at Foothill and Etiwanda Avenue. Deputies say they arrived around 8:20pm to find a female deceased and a second male victim in critical condition. He was later pronounced dead at a local hospital. A preliminary investigation showed a Kia sedan was traveling eastbound on Foothill Boulevard when the driver passed traffic on the right in the marked bicycle lane. The driver of the Kia struck the two bicyclists and fled the scene.

The driver later identified as 23-year old Robert Gubany was involved in a non-injury traffic collision in Fontana a short time later. It was determined Gubany was under the influence of alcohol. Gubany was booked into the West Valley Detention Center. The eastbound lanes of Foothill boulevard were closed for the accident investigation.
