The latest round of storms brought several inches of snow to the mountain areas. Bear Mountain Ski Resort reported eight inches in a 24-hour period. The same was reported over at Snow Summit. Meantime the crowds flocked to Wrightwood and Mtn High on Monday during the Martin Luther King Jr Holiday.
Heavy traffic was reported along Highway 2 as crowds spent the day playing in the snow. The road remained open as CHP officers kept a close eye on those blocking roadways. CHP officers remind people to come to the mountains prepared with chains, extra water, food and emergency blankets.
