A man was delivering packages for Amazon Monday morning when two Hispanic males approached the victim. One of the Hispanic males brandished a gun, ordering the victim to exit the van. The suspects fled with the van in the 15200 Whittram Avenue in Fontana around 11:00am.
Profile Logistics LLC is registered owner of the van and contracts with Amazon for delivery services. They accessed an on-board GPS on the van to find its location which was a parked field at Lime and Valencia Avenue in Fontana. The owner of the company drove to the location to find several subjects carrying Amazon boxes through the field. As he confronted the suspects a shooting occurred. One of the suspects took the van and fled the scene as San Bernardino Sheriff deputies arrived. They attempted to stop the stolen van and a pursuit was initiated.
Four miles later, the suspect identified as 29-year old Harold Brown crashed the van into a block wall at Ceres and Citrus avenue and fled on foot. Brown forced his way into a residence in Fontana and was later apprehended. Brown was identified as the shooter and was transported to a local hospital where he was treated from injuries from the traffic crash before being booked into West Valley Detention Center. The second suspect has not yet been identified or located.
