Amid rising gas prices, California Governor Gavin Newsom says fuel companies are ripping Californians off. He wants a new windfall tax on the oil refineries that would help ease the cost of fuel for millions in the state. Gas prices have increased almost daily in the last couple of weeks.
Newsom also wants an early release of the “Winter Blend” fuel ahead of schedule which could save customers up to 25 cents per gallon at the pump. California pump prices are way above the national average.
