A pick-up truck that was off-roading in the Jurupa Hills sparked a 6-acre brushfire. San Bernardino County firefighters got the call around 3pm Sunday at Tamarind and Alder avenue. A second alarm was quickly called after the fire rapidly spread up steep rocky terrain.
Firefighters had a line around the fire within an hour and kept the fire from continuing to grow. No structures were threatened and crews will remain at the scene to mop up hotspots.
