Firefighters rushed to contain a 27-acre fire in the San Bernardino National Forest. The “Manzanita Fire” forced the closure of Highway 330 Friday afternoon. The fire was reported around 3:30pm. Within an hour the fire was holding on a ridgetop allowing crews to make progress on fighting it.
Several aircraft made drops while crews hiked in rugged terrain. The cause is under investigation.
