A man broke into a Rancho Cucamonga group home and stabbed the occupants inside on Tuesday. Deputies received the call in the 9200 block of 19th street around 6pm. They identified the suspect as 37-year old Jeremy Rice. Deputies say Rice fled the scene after the stabbing.
Witnesses reported Rice jumping fences and running through backyards. Rice was eventually caught inside of a Vans clothing store inside the Alta Loma Square shopping center. Deputies say Rice attempted to change clothes in a fitting room to avoid capture. Rice was booked into West Valley Detention Center on attempted murder and burglary charges. His motive is unknown and the victims were taken to the hospital in stable condition.
