Tropical Storm Kay made a grand exit out of the Inland Empire Sunday afternoon. With her exit, she brought heavy thunderstorms, lightning and heavy downpours that caused roadway flooding. San Bernardino County fire dispatch was flooded with 911 calls across San Bernardino for people trapped in cars with rising waters.
Just before 7pm, four people in a van were rescued off of Sierra Avenue in San Bernardino. Across town, cars became disabled from roadway flooding on University Avenue near the 210 freeway. The heavy rain had moved on within an hour and water levels subsided. There were no reported injuries.
