Acres of stacked cardboard sent smoke and flames billowing into the air Monday afternoon in Moreno Valley. The fire broke out around 1:30pm in the 22000 block of Opportunity Way. Fire officials quickly called a 5th-alarm that brought dozens of resources to help battle the blaze. At least one firefighter was transported for heat exhaustion.

It took firefighters several hours to knock down the fire. Equipment was brought in to move the cardboard. It is unknown if the actual warehouse suffered damage from the fire. The cause is under investigation.
