Pipe Bomb Discovered at Pomona Valley Hospital

Pomona Police officers responded to Pomona Valley Hospital Monday night after security staff at the hospital found a PVC pipe with end caps along with a fuse on an ambulatory patient. The Los Angeles County Sheriff Bomb Squad was called in to take possession and render the device safe.

The hospital itself was not evacuated, but the Emergency Room was closed and ambulances were diverted to other hospitals for a short time. Police determined the suspect did not have malicious intent. The suspect came to the hospital via ambulance from West Covina. Pomona Police is working with the West Covina Police department to determine where the device came from.
