A fire broke out in the unincorporated Riverside County community of Woodcrest Saturday afternoon. The fire reported around 12:15pm in the 15000 block of Cartwright Drive. It spread quickly from palm trees to neighboring structures and trailers. Dozens of firefighters responded and mandatory evacuations were ordered.
By late afternoon, firefighters had a complete knockdown of the fire and stopped the forward rate of spread with a total of 2 acres. The evacuation area was also lifted.
