Three Killed in Fiery Rialto Collision

Three people were killed Monday night in a violent fiery multi vehicle collision in Rialto. The crash happened around 6:28pm at Valley and Riverside avenues. When officers arrived, they found two vehicles engulfed in flames and several other vehicles damaged. A female driver and female child were trapped inside one of the vehicles on fire, a Kia Sorento. Officers and bystanders were unable to remove the female and child from the burning vehicle.

Multiple witnesses report the driver of a black Jeep Cherokee was traveling at a high rate of speed, eastbound on Valley boulevard. The Cherokee sideswiped a Chevrolet Silverado before continuing on speeding into several other vehicles including the Kia Sorento that was stopped at a red light at the intersection of Valley and Riverside. The momentum of the crash carried the vehicles into other vehicles in the intersection. The Cherokee’s driver also died at the scene. Two additional victims in the crash were transported to local hospitals. Rialto Police are investigating.
