A fire that broke out early Sunday morning damaged two homes. Fire crews rushed to the 200 block of South 2nd avenue in Upland around 4am. They found heavy smoke and fire coming from a single story home. The fire quickly spread to the garage and patio of an adjacent property.
Firefighters had the fire knocked down on both properties within 30 minutes. They also rescued two cats. The fire is under investigation.
