One Dead in Riverside Fiery Crash

One person is dead and others were injured early Wednesday morning in a fiery crash on the 91 Freeway. The crash involved two vehicles and a motorcycle. One of the vehicles caught fire touching a brushfire on nearby vegetation. The crash happened just before 1am on the Eastbound 91 Freeway at Auto Center Drive.

The fire briefly threatened homes along a freeway soundwall. Several firefighters spent over an hour mopping up the flames. One person was pronounced dead and at least two others were taken to area hospitals. Traffic was backed up for a few hours while CHP investigated the accident. Motorists stuck in the closure were turned around on the freeway and told to get off at nearby Van Buren Boulevard.
