The driver of a carjacked construction truck led police on a wild pursuit that left a path of destruction throughout the Inland Empire Tuesday night. It started after 7pm when Fontana police located a stolen Jeep they had been looking for. The suspect led police on a pursuit to Ontario where he crashed into a ditch at Vineyard and the 10 Freeway. He then got out and carjacked a nearby construction truck. A female passenger from the Jeep was taken into custody.

The driver led police on a wild chase that lasted for at least two hours on a path of destruction. In Montclair, the suspect crashed into several vehicles on Central avenue before getting on the freeway and crashing into another vehicle. At one point the driver went the wrong way on the freeway going head on with other vehicles. A trailer attached to the construction lost a tire and caused the suspect to slow down.

Finally around 9:30pm in Pomona, an Ontario Police armored vehicle forced the construction truck into a center divider. The suspect got out and ran across the freeway. A police K9 apprehended the suspect where he was taken into custody, then transported to a local hospital for dog bite wounds. That suspect is now facing a laundry list of charges including grand theft auto and felony hit and run.
