Ontario Police officers responded to a suspect wielding a knife and threatening customers at the Mobil Gas Station in the 4300 block of East Ontario Mills Parkway. The suspect had also demanded money from customers. Just after 10:45pm, Thursday night, an officer contacted the suspect who became very aggressive. The suspect lunged at the officer with a metal object and after refusing commands to drop the weapon, an officer involved shooting occurred.
Paramedics and other responding officers attempted life-saving measures on the suspect. He was pronounced dead at the scene a short time later. The weapons recovered from the suspect were later determined to be two metal forks. There were no injuries to victims or officers during the incident. Police are reviewing surveillance footage from the gas station.
