The California Highway Patrol has taken a suspect into custody in the death of a 12-year old boy killed in a hit and run crash over fourth of July weekend. Edger Ivan Galindo Diaz turned himself in Tuesday to CHP officers in the Victorville area.

Diaz is suspected to have been driving an Orange Polaris RZR in the Barstow OHV area on July 2nd when he collided with two minors on a quad. Diaz then fled the scene. Both minors were rushed to area hospitals. 12-year old Jacob Martinez was taken off of life support just a few days later. CHP investigators located Diaz Polaris RZR at an Apple Valley residence. He was nowhere to be found until turning himself in.
