The first day of summer brought a monsoon storm that had plenty of lightning, rain and pop-up thunderstorms. Hundreds of lightning strikes were recorded across Southern California accompanied by periods of rain and plenty of thunder.
By Wednesday morning, widespread power outages had been reported as firefighters scrambled to respond to small fire calls across the area. Fortunately, no major damage was reported. Dry lightning can be dangerous and people are warned to stay inside during the storm.
