Police Shoot and Kill Armed Bank Robber After Pursuit

Several law enforcement agencies were involved in a shootout with a bank robbery suspect in San Bernardino Thursday afternoon. It all started in Grand Terrace when a suspect attempted to rob a bank in Grand Terrace. That attempt was unsuccessful as the bank was closed. The suspect allegedly set off a hold-up alarm. He then went to a bank in Colton. Colton police quickly spotted the suspect and the chase was on.

The suspect was pursued into the city of San Bernardino where he hit a spike strip. The suspect then crashed into a county of San Bernardino utility pick-up truck at 5th and D street. Surrounded by law enforcement the suspect fired several shots from a rifle at officers. They returned fire fatally striking the suspect.

No officers were injured in the shooting. The two county workers involved in the crash sustained minor injuries and were treated and released.
