Brushfire burns Sixty Acres in Jurupa Valley

Firefighters in Riverside County made quick work of a brush fire in Jurupa Valley on Friday afternoon. The fire broke out near Granite Hill Drive and Pyrite Street just before 1pm. The fire spread to sixty acres before firefighters on the ground and in the air stopped forward progress.

There were 100 children on a field trip at the nearby Discovery Center that had to be evacuated. There were no reported injuries. The cause is under investigation.
