Winds Cause Damage Around Inland Empire

Extreme winds caused havoc Friday night across the Inland Empire. Trees toppled over striking powerlines, cars and houses. In Upland, a large Eucalyptus tree smashed a trailer of a big rig on Foothill Boulevard.

A small brushfire threatened several homes with embers being driven by strong winds in Upland. A tree came down on top of a fire hydrant causing water to shoot into the air in Ontario. Edison crews were kept busy all night long responding to arching powerline calls. City crews worked quickly to clear trees that were blocking streets. Trees fell on top of cars and houses causing plenty of damage.

Power outages were reported across the region.
