A suspect is in custody following a verbal argument during a Christmas gathering. Police say Ullces Lopez got into a verbal altercation with the victim’s stepfather around 10pm Christmas Eve. During the verbal altercation, Lopez shot and killed 20-year old Stephanie Gamez from Covina. Police have not said what the relationship status is between the suspect and victim.
The shooting happened in the 1100 block of East Highland Court in Ontario. Lopez was arrested Monday without incident and booked into West Valley Detention Center on a murder charge.
