Three Alarm Fire Burns Apartment at Upland Construction Site

Several homes under construction and an apartment burned in a three alarm fire Tuesday morning in Upland. Firefighters recieved the call just before 5:30am near 13th avenue and 9th street. The fire quickly spread to a nearby apartment building on Chaffee street.

Eight buildings in various stages of construction were damaged or destroyed according to the San Bernardino County Fire Department. An eight-unit apartment building also sustained damage displacing approximately 25 residents. Red Cross is assisting those who were affected by the early morning blaze.

The cause is under investigation.
