A car fire touched off a brushfire that burned in rugged terrain near Mt. Baldy on Tuesday afternoon. The fire was reported just after 2pm along Glendora Ridge Road near Mt. Baldy road.
The U.S. Forest Service along with the Los Angeles County Fire Department sent resources to the area to help fight the fire. Ground crews had difficulty accessing the fire due to the rugged terrain. Several helicopters and aircraft dropped water and fire retardant.
The fire is 50 acres with zero percent containment. Crews remain at the scene overnight to make sure it doesn’t spread. There are no structures threatened.
