The chase started in Fontana when a driver refused to pull over. One passenger fled the car on foot. The driver continued on entering the Westbound 10 freeway with a female in the back seat. The vehicle exited and re-entered the freeway. The vehicle exited Milliken and tried to make a u-turn when Fontana Police units performed a pit maneuver on the vehicle on Eastbound 10 freeway on-ramp at Milliken in Ontario.
The suspect used the vehicle as a weapon towards officers and an officer involved shooting occurred. The suspect inside the car was struck and transported to a local hospital a where he died of his injuries. The female passenger was taken into custody unharmed. The suspect that fled on foot got away.
Ontario Police is assisting Fontana Police in their investigation. The on ramp at Milliken remained closed for several hours.
