One killed after DUI driver collided with Fruit Cart in Ontario

One person was killed after a DUI driver struck two pedestrians pushing a fruit cart across Euclid Avenue in Ontario on Monday morning.

The crash happened at 11:13am. The two fruit cart vendors were crossing Euclid Avenue at Riverside Drive, pushing their fruit cart when 43-year old Jessica Dewet from Chino driving a mini-van struck the two vendors. One was transported to the hospital and the other died at the scene.

Ontario police determined Dewet was driving under the influence and arrested her on charges of driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs and gross vehicular manslaughter.
