A suspect stole a Big Rig from a Montclair tire shop Saturday afternoon. The owner of the big rig began following his stolen vehicle into the city of Pomona.
As Pomona Police got behind the stolen big rig, a pursuit ensued. The suspect fled at high speeds with the big rig losing control at the intersection of Philadelphia and Pipeline in Chino. He crashed through several front yards and struck several parked vehicles, a power pole and eventually crashed into a house.
The house was not occupied at the time. The suspect identified as 27-year-old Matthew Paul Gonzalez was checked out at a hospital and booked for grand theft auto. The house suffered major damage and was red tagged. The residents are being offered assistance through the red cross.
