At least 40 apartment units went up in flames Tuesday afternoon as firefighters battled a three-alarm fire. Resources from across the county responded the fire at the Courtyard at Upland apartments in the 900 block of West 7th street around 2:45pm.
The fire appears to have started in a shared attic space. The entire complex was evacuated. Several pets were also rescued. It took at least 2 hours to knock down the blaze. At least one firefighter was injured. Red Cross is assisting the displaced residents.
The cause is under investigation.
