RV Fire Spreads to 20 acres in Cajon Pass

A recreational vehicle caught fire in the Cajon Pass Tuesday afternoon and quickly spread to 20-acres on a nearby hillside. The incident happened on the Northbound 15 near Kenwood around 1pm. Firefighters from the San Bernardino County Fire Department, Cal Fire and US Forest Service quickly surrounded the flames.

Structures on a nearby ranch were threatened. Several helicopters and fixed-wing aircraft dropped water and retardant on the fire to help stop the flames. Traffic in the area was snarled.

Just an hour later a big rig caught fire on the Southbound 15 freeway near Duncan Canyon. That fire was quickly contained.
