Wind Driven Fire Burns Structures in Bloomington

At least three structures burned in a wind driven fire in Bloomington this morning. The flames broke out around 12:30am in the 10700 block of Tamarind Avenue. Strong winds sent embers flying to adjacent properties catching structures and trees on fire.

Dozens of firefighters rushed to the scene to battle the blaze as a third alarm was called. Fontana Police and San Bernardino Sheriff Deputies went around evacuating people from the neighborhood in case the fire spread. Firefighters had most of the flames knocked down within an hour. Firefighters remained at the scene mopping up hot spots. The cause is under investigation.
