A pursuit suspect was fatally shot by Ontario Police officers late Monday night. The incident began at 11:55pm when Ontario Police officers tried to pull a vehicle over for vehicle code violations. The driver failed to stop and took off on a short pursuit.
The pursuit ended at Beverly Court and Sixth Street when the driver attempted to ram three Ontario Police vehicles. Police say that is when an officer involved shooting occurred. The driver was pronounced dead at the scene. He was only identified as a 29-year old male from the city of Ontario. A female passenger was taken into custody for an unrelated warrant.
Ontario Police and the San Bernardino County District Attorney’s office are conducting the use of force investigation.
