Ontario firefighters battled a wind driven mulch fire early Thursday morning. The fire broke out at a recycling facility in the area of Chino Avenue and Euclid around 1:30am.
Gusty winds in the area sent embers flying. Several mulch piles along with two outbuildings were on fire. Firefighters from surrounding agencies were called in to help battle the blaze.
Thick smoke caused traffic issues on Euclid avenue, however a closure was not necessary. Heavy equipment is at the site breaking down the mulch piles, so they can be watered down.
